Use BreadCraft in Claude & ChatGPT
Connect your AI assistant to BreadCraft and let it do the work: write “Create a rye bread recipe for me” or send it a link to a recipe you like – the recipe lands right in your BreadCraft app.
The connection uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard that lets AI assistants work with apps securely.
What your assistant can do
- Create recipes – from a description, a link, typed text or a photo.
- Find and read recipes – e.g. “Which rye breads have I saved?”
- Edit recipes – e.g. “Raise the water in my spelt bread to 75 %.”
- Use tags – new recipes can get your existing tags.
Before you start
- You need a BreadCraft account. You sign in with it in the browser during setup.
- Signed up with Apple? Apple sign-in is not available there yet. In the app, open Settings, tap your name, then Set Password. During setup, sign in with the login email shown there and your new password.
- Setting it up is easiest in a web browser on a computer.
- Paste this address into your assistant:

- Choose Add, then Add custom connector.
- Enter BreadCraft as the name, paste the server address and click Continue.
- Keep the detected sign-in settings and click Add.
- Sign in with your BreadCraft account and allow access.

Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT currently allows custom servers only in some plans and only in the browser. Creating recipes needs Business or Enterprise/Edu; depending on workspace settings only an admin can add new connections.
- Open chatgpt.com and go to Plugins.
- Choose + and add a custom server.
- Enter BreadCraft as the name and paste the server address under Connection.
- Choose OAuth as sign-in, confirm the notice and create the plugin.
- Sign in with your BreadCraft account and allow access.

How to use it
Just write what you want in the chat, e.g. “Create a whole spelt bread with 70 % hydration in BreadCraft”. New recipes show up in the app shortly after.
Privacy
- Your assistant only gets access to your own recipes – nothing else in your account.
- What you write in the chat is processed by the AI provider (e.g. Anthropic or OpenAI) under your own account with them, according to their privacy policy.
- You can disconnect at any time.
Disconnect
- In BreadCraft: Settings → Connect AI assistant → under “Connected assistants” tap Disconnect.
- In Claude: your name → Settings → Connectors → Remove next to BreadCraft.
- In ChatGPT: remove BreadCraft in the plugin settings.
